Surprising reports from Brazil have emerged claiming that Jurgen Klopp is not enjoying his new role at the Red Bull Group.
Since assuming his role as Red Bull’s Head of Global Soccer on January 1, 2025, the German as embarked on a strategic mission to reshape the energy drink giant’s football operations.
Based in Wiesbaden and Mallorca, the former Liverpool manager has focused on mentoring coaches, refining scouting networks, and integrating cross-sport performance insights across Red Bull’s global portfolio of clubs.
Klopp began with a worldwide tour, visiting RB Bragantino in Brazil to analyze youth development frameworks, then New York Red Bulls to assess MLS operations.
He later traveled to Japan to consult with newly acquired J1 League side Omiya Ardija, emphasizing tactical adaptability in Asian markets
But now it seems that he is not enjoying his role too much.
Bruno Andrade of UOL Brazil has claimed that Klopp’s growing dissatisfaction in his role as Red Bull’s Global Head of Soccer has ignited speculation about a potential return to frontline management.
It is claimed that only two jobs would coax him back in the dugout – with the Brazilian national team and Real Madrid emerging as unlikely but tantalizing destinations.
The development coincides with the Brazilian Football Confederation (CBF) accelerating its search for Dorival Júnior’s replacement, while Carlo Ancelotti’s uncertain future at Madrid likely hinges on whether they can comeback vs Arsenal in the Champions League.
Andrade says of the situation:
“People close to Klopp have recently heard directly from him that he would only consider leaving the Austrian group for two destinations: the Brazilian national team or Real Madrid.”
“A departure from Red Bull right now—where Klopp reportedly earns around €12 million per year—would indeed come as a surprise.”
“Nonetheless, his growing dissatisfaction has become a recurring topic within the halls of the multimillion-dollar company in recent weeks.”
This is the second independent link of Jurgen Klopp to Madrid, suggesting that it may not just be a crafted story.
His contract with Red Bull reportedly includes an exit clause for the German national team, but it seems we should start focusing on Brazil and Real Madrid instead.
