Mats Hummels has reflected on his two stints at Borussia Dortmund, having worked under both former Liverpool boss Jurgen Klopp and incoming England coach Thomas Tuchel.

The center-back, now thriving at Roma and whose trophy cabinet boasts the coveted 2014 World Cup win with Germany, plus an impressive tally of 16 domestic accolades, opened up about the tactical discord that soured his relationship with Edin Terzic - the successor to Klopp and Tuchel - during their time together at Dortmund.

Despite his successful career which saw him lift multiple trophies with both Dortmund and Bayern Munich, it was the defensive mindset adopted in the lead-up to a pivotal Champions League final loss against Real Madrid that left him seething.

"I was furious because I was of the opinion that Borussia Dortmund shouldn't play like that - against any opponent in the world," Hummels told Bild.

Terzic wasn't the first manager he'd fallen out with - Hummels didn't see eye-to-eye with Tuchel, who called him out publicly following the DFB Pokal final in 2016.
