Jurgen Klopp has explained why he bluntly refused to answer questions over his role at Red Bull at a charity gala on Saturday night.

The legendary former Liverpool boss was attending the German Sports Aid's 'Ball des Sports' in Frankfurt.

Instead, he replied: "No, I'm relaxed, everything's fine."

Klopp later made it clear his decision to avoid answering was due to his desire to keep the focus on the German Sports Aid Foundation?

He added: "The German Sports Aid Foundation is one of the most important organizations we have.

"Let's be honest: how many athletes can make a living from their sport.

Klopp attended the Ball des Sports gala with his wife on Saturday.

The Ball des Sports is primarily used to raise money for athletes who are supported by the German Sports Aid Foundation.

When he started his new role, Klopp admitted that the Red Bull job was too good to turn down.

"I want people to see us playing and without reading the name on the shirt, they should feel it – they should know (we’re Red Bull)," Klopp said.
