Jurgen Klopp is reportedly targeting two Barcelona youngsters as he prepares to start his new role with the Red Bull group in January 2025.

Earlier this month, the former Liverpool manager was appointed Red Bull's Global Head of Soccer.

In his position, the German will help develop the Red Bull philosophy across their five clubs - Leipzig, Salzburg, New York Red Bulls, Bragantino, and Brasil.

However, the 57-year-old, who brought the curtain down on his glittering nine-year Liverpool career in May, will not begin his role with Red Bull until the New Year.

But that hasn't stopped Klopp from drawing up a list of young talents who could be brought to the Red Bull stables, with journalist Sebastien Vidal claiming the former Borussia Dortmund and Mainz 05 manager has set his sights on Barcelona duo Aleix Garrido and Noah Darvich.

?

Midfielder Garrido is the captain of Barcelona's B team but made his debut for the senior side in April 2023 in a La Liga clash against Elche.

Darvich, meanwhile, has yet to make a professional appearance for Barcelona since signing from Freiburg in 2023.

However, the German youth international did feature for Hansi Flick's side during pre-season.

Opening up on his reasoning for taking the job, Klopp said: "After almost 25 years on the sideline, I could not be more excited to get involved in a project like this.

?

"The role may have changed but my passion for football and the people who make the game what it is has not.

By joining Red Bull at a global level, I want to develop, improve and support the incredible football talent that we have at our disposal.

"There are many ways that we can do this from using the elite knowledge and experience that Red Bull possesses to learning from other sports and other industries.

"Together we can discover what is possible.

I see my role primarily as a mentor for the coaches and management of the Red Bull clubs, but ultimately, I am one part of an organisation that is unique, innovative and forward-looking.

As I said, this could not excite me more."

Liverpool face RB Leipzig in the Champions League later this month.
