Jurgen Klopp says he WILL return to Anfield on the final day of the season after being invited back to Merseyside by Arne Slot.
But the German has resisted the urge to embark on an earlier pilgrimage back to his old home for fears of jinxing Liverpool in their bid to become Premier League champions.
The Reds have exceeded all expectations in Slot's first season at the helm, with Klopp stepping away at the end of the 2023-24 campaign.
Liverpool are currently 13 points clear of Arsenal at the top of the table with Manchester City also well below them.
While Liverpool have now held a commanding lead at the Premier League summit for some time, Klopp says he did not want to become a distraction during a crucial stage of the season.

He did, however, confirm that there are plans in place for him to attend Liverpool's game with Crystal Palace at the end of May: an afternoon where Slot's men could be officially crowned as Premier League champions.
"Yes, the plan is [to be in Liverpool] but not on the bus, I will be there with the people I saw on the bus," Klopp explained during a fundraiser in Cape Town this week.
"That's the idea to be honest, but we will see.
