Liverpool are set for a busy summer transfer window as they aim to kick on under Arne Slot.
The Reds look likely to become Premier League champions in Slot’s first year at the club, but the team is largely the one he inherited from Jurgen Klopp.
Having made only one signing during his time at Liverpool so far, the Dutch coach will be aiming to put his own stamp on the squad in the transfer window.
Given what they look set to achieve, it will be difficult to improve the Liverpool squad dramatically from this season.
However, there are certain areas of the team which the Reds will be looking at making additions in.
One they are reportedly planning on bolstering is the forward line.
And as they weigh up which approach to take, a young starlet making waves in Serie A has seemingly caught their eye.

Liverpool’s front line is the envy of world football right now.
However, with the likes of Mohamed Salah, Darwin Nunez and Federico Chiesa all candidates to leave, it is in need of reshaping.
There is even a chance that Luis Diaz and Diogo Jota depart, with both players the subject of speculation over recent times.

As a result, Liverpool could be looking to do something different this summer.
And according to Senegalese journalist Khadim Diakhate, the Reds have their eye on Como youngster Assane Diao as a potential signing.

“Liverpool and Newcastle keep an eye on Assane Diao!” Diakhate writes on X.
“The 19-year-old Senegalese sensation, who has just arrived at Como in Serie A, is already attracting the interest of the Reds and the Magpies.”
Liverpool were linked with Diao back in November 2023, when the teenager was still with Real Betis.
After making 47 appearances and scoring seven times for the Spanish side, Diao joined Cesc Fabregas’ Como for around £9m in January.
He may only be 19, but the Spain U21 star has come to life since arriving in Serie A.
Diao has a goal in each of his last three appearances, with five in eight games overall.
“He is a player with strength, hunger, and mentality,” Fabregas said via Football Italia earlier this month.
I’m happy about that.”
A right-footed winger with an eye for goal, Diao is certainly one to watch this summer.
