Andy Robertson has been reflecting on both campaigns with the left-back making comparisons between a late victory last month and the ‘turning point’ from the 2019/20 title-winning campaign.

Last month, Darwin Nunez scored a brace in added time against Brentford on a weekend where Arsenal dropped points to Aston Villa.

The moment has drawn a comparison between the two games and speaking in the official matchday programme for Liverpool’s match with Wolves, Robertson has been reflecting on that moment at Villa Park in 2019.

“That Villa game is probably one of my favourite games to look back on,” the Scotland star said.

We stayed six points clear and beat them the following week to go nine points clear and that was a big turning point in the league.

“The Villa game was in November, but it proved to be massive, and hopefully the Brentford game and the three points we got there proves to be massive this season as well.”

Despite the Brentford result, Robertson is not getting ahead of himself as the defender knows there is a long way to go in the title race.

Liverpool have the chance to keep a 15-year streak alive when Wolves visit Anfield in the Premier League on Sunday and that is the main focus of Slot’s team.

The Reds increased their lead at the top of the Premier League to seven points on Wednesday with their draw against Everton but Robertson has stated that they will not be thinking about winning the title until April or May.

“I think we are just trying to win the next game that’s in front of us and that’s Wolves,” the left-back said.

“Our schedule is far too busy at the minute to look too far ahead or even have a minute’s thought to look at the league table.

“Only in April or May can you start dreaming that you can win it.

We’re just trying to keep winning games to allow us to keep the gap or extend the gap if teams behind us drop points.”

The Wolves game can be viewed as an important one in Liverpool’s season as the Merseyside club need to regain momentum after failing to win their last two matches.
