Liverpool are just one game away from another trip to Wembley, but they have work to do.
A 1-0 defeat in the first leg of their Carabao Cup semi-final against Tottenham Hotspur means they must overturn the deficit at Anfield.
The Reds have been in strong form since that night in London, and the belief in the squad remains high.
Ange Postecoglou’s Spurs although ridden by injuries, will arrive with confidence, knowing they have the advantage.
But playing at Anfield is never easy for any opponent.
Liverpool’s home ground has been a fortress for years, and the fans always play their part in pushing the team forward.
The players feed off that energy, and they will need every bit of it on Thursday night.
The message from the Liverpool camp is clear: they are ready for the challenge.
The team set out at the start of the season to compete for every trophy, and they are not about to let this opportunity slip away.
Kostas Tsimikas reveals Liverpool plan to beat Tottenham Hotspur
Kostas Tsimikas, who has been in good form this season, spoke to club’s official site about the team’s mindset and the role of the supporters.
“Yes, of course.
I think everybody is really ready for this game.
Everybody knows it will be a very tough game, but I think everybody in this team is ready for every challenge.
We just have to play our game and to win the game.”
Anfield will be crucial, and Tsimikas knows it.
“That’s most important.
The fans are always there for us and every single step we do, they are always there to encourage us and to give us the extra power and extra confidence we need to win the game.”
“Always with Anfield at our backs, we are stronger – and we have to show that again.”
The Greek full-back also shared Liverpool’s approach to the match.
“My feeling is to score a goal quickly and after it will be a very different game.
I think they will try to go higher and try to play from the back, and we have to steal some balls and score.”
“I think this game will be very, very tense – as it was in the first [leg].
