Kyle Walker has heaped praise on Curtis Jones after his first experience of playing alongside the Liverpool midfielder.

The two players could not be enjoying more contrasting fortunes at the minute.

His form saw him earn his senior international debut with England last month, and he certainly made an impression.

Jones scored on his first appearance for the Three Lions in Greece, and even won the Player of the Match award to underline his growth as a player over the last few months, leaving his teammates to watch on in awe.

Speaking on his curiously-titled podcast You’ll Never Beat Kyle Walker, the City defender reflected on his first impressions of the Liverpool star after finally getting the chance to play alongside him.

“Curtis Jones in both of the games was fantastic,” Walker said.

Obviously, I've played against him numerous times for Liverpool, but to actually play with him, he's got some ability.

Normally, when certain players or players in the past have come to the England team and got their debut, they've not really expressed themselves as he did and I think that just shows the confidence that he's taking on from this season given the game time that he's got at Liverpool and under the new manager and he's brought into the national team
