The brother of Kylian Mbappe, Ethan, has recently been seen sporting a 2024/25 Liverpool home kit – with footage surfacing online of the younger sibling wearing the home strip.
While most football fans know Kylian Mbappé as one of the world’s finest forwards, fewer might be familiar with his younger brother Ethan, who is carving his own path in professional football.
Unlike Kylian’s explosive attacking play, Ethan has developed as a technical, left-footed midfielder.
After following his brother’s footsteps through the PSG academy, Ethan made his professional debut for the Parisian club in December 2023 before securing a move to Lille in the summer of 2024
Ethan’s season at Lille has been marked by both promise and setback.
He made a handful of appearances early in the campaign, showing glimpses of his potential before suffering a quadriceps injury that has kept him sidelined for several months.
Ethan Mbappe has already made eight appearances in total for Lille’s first team at just 18 years of age.

In fact, he may well have faced Liverpool in the Champions League at Anfield as Lille suffered a 2-1 defeat to the Reds on 21 January if not was for that injury.
However, the 18-year-old did end up travelling and got to witness a European night at Anfield firsthand.
The image of Ethan in a Liverpool shirt adds an interesting dimension to the Mbappé family’s connection with the Merseyside club.
His brother Kylian has previously revealed that Liverpool is their mother’s favorite team, having held talks with the club in the past.
Back in 2022, Mbappe was considering his options as his contract with Paris Saint-Germain was nearing its end, and Liverpool was in the running alongside Real Madrid?
“We talked a little bit, but not too much.
We talked a little bit,” Mbappe told the Telegraph of Liverpool and Klopp.
“I talked to Liverpool because it’s the favourite club of my mum, my mum loves Liverpool.
It’s a big club.”
Perhaps it’s the mother’s influence rubbing onto her son.
Who knows, maybe in the future there will be an Mbappe playing at Anfield as a Liverpool player – it just won’t be the World Cup winner.
