Kylian Mbappe has pinpointed the exact moment that he reached his "lowest point" at Real Madrid after a dismal spell that saw him miss consecutive penalties against Liverpool and Athletic Bilbao last year.
Despite scoring 18 goals in 30 appearances since joining the La Liga giants, Mbappe's move has not been without its challenges, with Real experiencing a few setbacks all-told this season.
Initially, the Frenchman struggled to find the net, going goalless in his first three games, but later rediscovered his form, only to endure another dip in performance the following month.
Although Madrid currently tops the La Liga standings, their Champions League campaign has been far less successful until now with three defeats, including a 2-0 loss to Liverpool, at Anfield in November.
Mbappe was left frustrated after Caoimhin Kelleher saved his penalty kick, and his woes continued as he missed another from 12 yards in their 2-1 loss to Bilbao a week later.
However, having since scored seven goals across his last ten appearances, the France captain revealed that this was his darkest moment since heading to the Santiago Bernabeu, explaining how he overcame the difficult period.

"It wasn't shyness, but you have to come to Real Madrid with humility, because it's a team that has won everything and you can't come with demands, ordering; 'Pass me the ball'.
And now I am better."
