A Liverpool fan said the only reason he has missed one home match in the last 56 years was because he looked at a wedding invitation before the fixture list.
Brian Purcell has followed the Reds for 65 years and is chair of the Official Liverpool Supporters' Club in Deeside in North Wales.
As part of a new Legends of Liverpool series celebrating the people off the pitch that best represent the club's history and values, Ladbrokes visited Mr Purcell this week along with Reds legend Ian Rush.
Mr Purcell said his first Liverpool match was against Preston North End when he was "a young lad".
After watching the game, Mr Purcell said "from now on, this is going to be my team".
I was stupid enough to look at a wedding invitation before I looked at the fixture list."
As well as watching the Reds in action at Anfield, Mr Purcell followed them on their travels around the country.
One game, a chap sitting by me said "how do you fancy starting a supporters club?" Mr Purcell said the supporters' club has had the family of some famous faces with them on the road.
While touching the famous 'This is Anfield' sign, Mr Purcell said: "Never thought I'd walk down here."
As a final appreciation of Mr Purcell's loyalty following the club for over six decades, Ladbrokes surprised him with tickets to LFC's next match against AFC Bournemouth next season, ensuring he will tick off the last away day he hasn't yet done.
