Linda Pizzuti Henry has long been a familiar name in sports circles.
As the wife of John Henry, principal owner of Fenway Sports Group (FSG), she has been involved in various ventures tied to football, baseball and beyond.
Whether it’s supporting Liverpool FC or helping grow sports initiatives in Boston, Pizzuti Henry has always had a presence.
Her business and media influence extend beyond FSG, as she also serves as the CEO of The Boston Globe.
Over the years, she has played a key role in promoting women’s sports and media ventures.
Not only that, but she’s used her social media platform to make public statements related to the sport in the past.
When Jurgen Klopp announced his departure from the club, Linda Pizzuti shared an emotional post to the former Liverpool manager.
But now, she’s making headlines for stepping away from an investment group tied to a major football project.
For months, controversy has surrounded a stadium development linked to a new football team in Boston.
The plan, which involves a public-private partnership, has divided opinions in the local community.
Some see it as a boost for the sport, while others argue it’s a financial burden on taxpayers.
Now, with growing challenges and pressure, Pizzuti Henry has decided to exit the project.
Linda Pizzuti announces exit from football group
In a statement shared on her Instagram story, Linda Pizzuti confirmed her decision:
“In December, I officially notified the Boston NWSL team that I would be exiting the investor group.
“We are working together and expect to complete the process soon, and I will then just be a Boston fan, not part of the BOS Nation team in any way.”
Boston Unity Soccer Partners (BUSP), the investment group behind the project, thanked her for her involvement, stating:
“Our ownership group continues to grow, and we’re excited about what’s to come as we kick off in 2026.”
The stadium project has sparked legal battles and political debates, with critics calling it a “giveaway” to wealthy investors.
Pizzuti Henry, however, made it clear her support for women’s football remains strong.
“As an ardent supporter of women’s sports, I happily joined as a limited, passive investor when the group was forming.
“I remain very excited about the growth and future of women’s sports in Boston and beyond.”
With her exit, the debate over the stadium’s future continues.
But for Liverpool fans, her departure from this project won’t likely affect her involvement with FSG and the Reds.
Linda Pizzuti hasn’t made any public announcements or statements related to her involvement with Liverpool Football Club.
