A Liverpool fan's hopeful theory about a possible sale of the club was quickly shut down after the wife of John W.

Henry shared a picture on social media of the Reds' owner smoking a cigar.

One particularly optimistic fan responded to the picture of Henry holding a cigar by saying: "Hopefully that's John considering to put Liverpool up for sale" - but he was quickly handed a dose of reality, as the vast majority of responders suggested Henry was celebrating baseball player Alex Bregman agreeing to a three-year, $120 million deal with the Boston Red Sox.
