Liverpool dropped two points in the Premier League title race on Wednesday night.
The Reds travelled to Aston Villa looking to increase their gap at the top of the table to ten points, however, Arne Slot’s men would make it eight with a 2-2 draw at Villa Park.
Liverpool needed a Trent Alexander-Arnold goal to bring them level after entering the halftime break 2-1 down, but the Merseyside club would have felt that they should have won the contest.
Darwin Nunez had the best opportunity for Liverpool but the Uruguayan would blast it off target, leaving Slot with his head in his hands.
The result will give Arsenal hope and former Gunners star Lee Dixon has spotted a few signs that will give Mikel Arteta’s squad a boost.

The last three games have been tough work for Liverpool and many fans will find confidence in the fact that the Reds have lost none of them.
However, there are signs that the Merseyside club are starting to get tired, while Dixon thinks ‘indiscipline’ may be starting to creep into the Reds’ season.
The former Arsenal star believes the Gunners have made hard work of wins lately, but he now thinks that is the case with Liverpool also, as he has noticed results get closer.

“We saw the Everton game last week, that was a struggle,” Dixon said on NBC Sports.
Tonight, it was open-ended it could have gone either way that game, so there are seeing signs.
“There are a few little things that give all us a lot of room to think there is a chance [Arsenal close the gap], and there definitely is a chance, but it is still Liverpool’s to lose.”
Slot will have already noticed these things starting to creep into his squad and it was clear that the Dutch coach becoming aware of it with some of his comments after the Aston Villa game.
Liverpool’s draw at Aston Villa was their seventh in the Premier League this season and sharing the spoils has been a feature in past title failures.
Slot has noticed this worrying trend and addressed it after the full-time whistle at Villa Park, admitting that it is happening a “bit too much”.
“A bit too much where we have played game now where we deserved more than we got,” Slot told TNT Sports.
“I look at the Newcastle game, where we conceded in the last minute and some other games, today included, where in my opinion if one of the two teams deserved to win, in my opinion, it was us.”
Conor Bradley picked up an injury for Liverpool at Villa Park and will miss fixtures that do not get any easier for the Reds over the coming week as the Slot’s men travel to the Etihad to play Man City on Sunday before hosting Newcastle at Anfield, that could determine their season.
