The participation of several Liverpool players in international tournaments like the Copa America and Euro 2024 may impact their availability for the early part of pre-season.

Key players such as Alisson, Luis Diaz, Darwin Nunez, Virgil van Dijk, and Trent Alexander-Arnold will return based on their national teams’ progress, potentially as late as mid-July.

This staggered return will require careful management from Slot to ensure a smooth integration into the pre-season program.

When do Liverpool go the USA?

Liverpool will fly to Pittsburgh later this month on July 23rd as they prepare for an American tour for this pre-season.

This follows after pre-season trips to Singapore and Thailand in recent seasons.

Arne Slot’s Reds will play three games in the USA, with the first one against Real Betis at the Acrisure Stadium in Pittsburgh on Friday July 26 (kick-off 7.30pm EST).

The aforementioned Arsenal game takes place on July 31 at Lincoln Financial Field in Philadelphia, followed by an encounter with the Red Devils at Williams-Brice Stadium in Columbia, South Carolina on August 3.

And the final pre-season game has now been confirmed, with Liverpool taking on Sevilla at Anfield on Sunday, August 11.

Kick-off is scheduled for 3pm BST and will be Arne Slot’s first game at Anfield as the Liverpool boss.

It will come a mere six days before Arne Slot’s first real test, an away trip to Ipswich Town in the Premier League on August 17.
