Arne Slot has confirmed Cody Gakpo and Joe Gomez will both miss Liverpool’s trip to Aston Villa on Wednesday night.

Gomez was forced off early in Liverpool’s FA Cup defeat to Plymouth earlier this month and is now facing another spell on the sidelines with a hamstring issue, having only just returned from injury.

Slot said at his pre-match press conference on Tuesday: “Joe will be out for numerous weeks."
