The date for Liverpool’s Carabao Cup quarter-final game against Southampton has been announced.
Liverpool stormed to the last eight of the Carabao Cup last week, thanks to a 3-2 win over Brighton.
In a highly entertaining game at the Amex Stadium, the Reds secured the win courtesy of second-half goals from Cody Gakpo (two goals) and Luis Diaz.
Having beaten West Ham and Brighton, Slot’s side will hope to overpower Southampton and continue their march towards defending their Carabao Cup crown, which they won in Jurgen Klopp’s final season.
When is Southampton vs Liverpool Carabao Cup tie?
The fixture date for Liverpool’s trip to St Mary’s in the last eight of the Carabao Cup was announced on Wednesday.
The tie against the Saints will take place on Wednesday, December 18, kicking off at 8pm GMT.
Sky Sports will broadcast the match in the UK.
However, before the trip to St Mary’s, Liverpool have serious business in the Premier League and the Champions League, beginning with a home game against Aston Villa this Saturday.
After the international break, they face Southampton in the Premier League before back-to-back home fixtures against Real Madrid in the Champions League and Manchester City in the league.
Away trips to Newcastle, Everton, and Girona follow in December, and then there will be a home game against Fulham before the Southampton League Cup game.
Should they qualify for the semi-final, Liverpool will then play a double-legged semi-final to determine if they will be at Wembley in March next year.
