Liverpool await February's Champions League round of 16 draw to discover their next opponents, and before that the conclusion of the play-offs.
Possible opponents Brest and Paris Saint-Germain began their battle with a first leg on Thursday night, leaving the Reds with a major clue for the next stage.
One part of Arne Slot's glistening start to life at Anfield has been his European conquest.
Introduced to a new format alongside the other 35 teams involved, seven wins from eight league phase matches ensured Liverpool an automatic round of 16 place and a top seed in the competition.
With a Premier League title race unfolding it also meant avoiding a two-legged play-off this month - a privilege not afforded to rivals Manchester City, who became prime examples of the dangers of missing out on the Champions League's top eight when they were drawn against holders Real Madrid.

Finishing first and as runners-up in the league phase, the Reds and Barcelona were told by UEFA they are capable to drawing up to four teams that have been thrown into the play-offs.
They were Brest and Paris Saint-Germain - the two French sides contesting a two-legged tie - and in another are AS Monaco and Benfica.
The former match-up got underway in Guingamp, north western France, on Tuesday evening.
It resulted in a resounding 3-0 victory to Luis Enrique's PSG.
By half-time the 2020 Champions League finalists had amassed a two-goal lead, courtesy of a Vitinha penalty and Ousmane Dembele strike on the stroke of half-time.
Desire Doue and PSG were denied another goal as VAR ruled offside, though Dembele added the third soon after.
There is a second leg at PSG's Parc des Princes next Wednesday, February 19, to come but the visitors face a gargantuan task to defeat a team by four clear goals when they have never done so by any scoreline in a 36-year history of head-to-heads.
As they finished 15th in the league phase, by that standard PSG would be the toughest possible opponent Liverpool can face in the round of 16.
