Liverpool Football Club has responded to ongoing fan concerns about ticket affordability by announcing a price freeze for the 2025-26 season tickets, while simultaneously unveiling a new season ticket attendance policy aimed at maximizing stadium capacity for every home match.
In a move widely seen as acknowledging the financial pressures facing supporters, Liverpool confirmed last month that season ticket prices will remain unchanged for the upcoming campaign.
This decision comes after months of vocal campaigning from supporter groups who have increasingly expressed concerns about the rising cost of attending matches amid broader economic challenges.
And now the club has released further information on the Liverpool season ticket landscape for the 2025/26 campaign.
The renewal period for season tickets will commence the week beginning March 17, giving existing ticket holders the opportunity to secure their places at Anfield under the frozen price structure.
As part of the announcement, Liverpool has introduced a significant new initiative titled “Every Seat, Every Game” that will fundamentally change how season tickets operate.
The policy aims to combat the approximately 500 empty general admission seats observed during typical Premier League home matches this season.
Under the new guidelines, season ticket holders will be required to ensure their seat is utilized for a minimum of 15 Premier League home fixtures per season.
Those unable to attend personally are being strongly encouraged to either list their ticket on the club’s official Ticket Exchange platform or forward it to registered friends and family members.
The club has emphasized that tickets posted on the Ticket Exchange will count toward the 15-game minimum regardless of whether they are purchased by another supporter?
Similarly, tickets forwarded to individuals on a season ticket holder’s Friends and Family list will also count toward fulfilling the attendance requirement.
How these exceptional circumstances will be defined and evaluated remains to be clarified as the full policy details are released.
“Every empty seat at Anfield represents a missed opportunity for another passionate supporter to attend a match,” noted a club statement accompanying the announcement.
“We believe this policy strikes the right balance between respecting our loyal season ticket holders while addressing the crucial issue of ticket access that so many of our supporters have highlighted.”
The club has confirmed that once the renewal window opens, season ticket holders will receive comprehensive information about the new policy via email and through a dedicated online renewal hub, which will include detailed FAQs addressing common concerns.
