Liverpool's potential plan to replace Mohamed Salah with Eintracht Frankfurt forward Omar Marmoush has taken a blow ahead of the January transfer window.
Marmoush has caught the eye of a number of clubs with his performances in the Bundesliga in the past two seasons.
Since joining Frankfurt in 2023, the Egypt international has scored a sensational 35 goals in 65 games.
So far this term, Marmoush has scored 18 times in all competitions - including 13 in 15 league games - and provided another 12 assists, beating his tally on both fronts last season.
Leading Frankfurt to third place has resulted in clubs showing interest and Liverpool have been strongly linked.
But according to CaughtOffside, Arsenal are leading the race for his signature ahead of the January transfer window.

The report claims the Gunners are in pole position ahead of the Reds and Chelsea, with contact made to seek out more information about Marmoush's availability.
Despite being 32, he has been Arne Slot's main man this season to help them lead the way in the Premier League.
Salah has scored 20 goals and assisted a further 17 in 26 games this season but there remains doubt over his contract extension.
Should he leave at the end of the season, Marmoush could be one of the names identified to replace him for the 2025/26 season.
