Premier League trophy parade latest
As it seems a question of when rather than if Liverpool win the title, supporters are getting excited to see what plans are in store for a possible parade of the Premier League trophy.
It must be remembered that when the club's 30-year title hiatus was ended in 2020, we were in the midst of the Covid-19 pandemic so no public celebration could place - all the team could do was lift the trophy in front of an empty Anfield Stadium...
No matter if everything is settled tonight by an Arsenal loss or Liverpool beating Tottenham on Sunday, they can be expected to only lift the Premier League trophy again after their final home match of the season, which is the 38th and last match of the season against Crystal Palace on Sunday, May 25.
While the club are yet to confirm plans for a parade, a look at the past gives an insight into what could happen.
Three years ago the Reds atop three open-top buses that contained the players, staff and DJ Calvin Harris took the Carabao Cup and FA Cup trophies on a loop of the city starting at Allerton Maze, all the way down Queen's Drive and onto The Strand along Liverpool waterfront.
This event started at 4:00pm the day after the team contested the final match of their 2021/22 campaign, the Champions League final in Paris.
Notably Monday, May 26 - the day after the season ends - this year falls on spring bank holiday for UK residents, so could fall perfectly for the hundreds of thousands that would be expected to turn up and watch their favourite players drive by with the Premier League trophy.
Harris also doesn't have any commitments at that time so it remains to be seen if he could be coaxed back to DJ the event just as he was last time by fellow Scotsman Andy Robertson.
As a massive Liverpool fan he called the 2022 parade 'the biggest gig of his life'.
But, as said, nothing yet is confirmed.
Liverpool's players celebrate with both trophies as they wave to supporters from an open-top bus during a parade through the streets of Liverpool in north-west England on May 29, 2022, after winning the 2021-22 League Cup and FA Cup.
- Despite the disappointment of losing to real Madrid in the final of the UEFA Champions League, Klopp has called on Liverpool fans to take to the streets of the city on Sunday when they parade the League Cup and FA Cup.
