So, as things stand, only three points are needed to settle the matter once and for all.

This ultimately means if Mikel Arteta's side are beaten by Crystal Palace at the Emirates Stadium tonight (KO 8:00pm), the title race is over and Liverpool will have become English champions for a record-equalling 20th time in their history.

If the Gunners win or they are even held to a draw, the fight continues.

Thankfully, this at least leaves the Reds to settle their own fate with Sunday, April 27's fixture against Tottenham Hotspur at Anfield falling before Arsenal are scheduled to play again.
