Arne Slot arrived at Liverpool with a strong reputation for developing young talent, a philosophy that has continued Jurgen Klopp’s legacy of giving academy prospects opportunities.
In January, 18-year-old defender Amara Nallo experienced a bittersweet Champions League debut against PSV Eindhoven.
His appearance lasted just four minutes before he received a red card for a foul on Johan Bakayoko.
Meanwhile, 17-year-old Trey Nyoni has featured in multiple competitions this season, including Premier League, Champions League, and cup appearances.
The promising midfielder has been regularly named in matchday squads since October 2024, earning starts against Southampton in the League Cup and Plymouth Argyle in the FA Cup.
Perhaps most impressive has been the rise of 16-year-old Rio Ngumoha, who became the second-youngest player to start a match in Liverpool’s history during an FA Cup victory over Accrington Stanley.
The former Chelsea academy winger impressed enough to earn inclusion in Liverpool’s Champions League squad for the knockout phase.
But unlike these rapidly-promoted talents, Kieran Morrison’s pathway to the first team has proven more gradual despite his impressive performances at youth level.

And as a result, Jack Lusby is reporting that the teenager could depart Anfield with his deal entering its last year in the summer amid high-profile interest.
The left-footed attacking midfielder has represented Northern Ireland at U17 and U19 level, scoring once in three appearances for the U17s.
Morrison’s development at Liverpool has been steady, progressing through the U18s before becoming a key figure for the U21s.
But despite his promising development, Morrison’s future at Liverpool appears uncertain.
He was included in the first-team squad for January’s Champions League match against PSV Eindhoven but has seen limited opportunities since that call-up14.
This situation has attracted attention from several clubs, with Jack Lusby reporting interest from Premier League sides, Championship clubs, and teams in Germany.
What makes Morrison’s case particularly concerning for Liverpool is that he’ll enter the final year of his current deal(which is a professional one) this summer, potentially forcing the club into a difficult decision where they need to either sell him this summer or potentially risk losing him on a free.
It’s not the first time Morrison has attracted outside interest?
Before signing his three-year contract last year, there was also reported interest from both the Bundesliga and the Premier League.
