Steven Gerrard is set to don the Liverpool legends' jersey at Anfield later this month in their yearly charity match, reigniting rivalries with Chelsea as the Reds welcome the Londoners' legends team.
The 44-year-old left Al-Ettifaq in January following a disappointing run that saw them languishing in 12th place in the Saudi Pro League, ending his 18-month tenure with the Saudi side.
Gerrard will join former Liverpool colleagues Sami Hyypia, Martin Skrtel, Peter Crouch and Dirk Kuyt on the pitch for the March 22 match, which aims to raise funds for the LFC Foundation's health initiatives aimed at addressing health disparities across the Liverpool City Region.
Gerrard featured in Liverpool legends' 4-2 triumph over Ajax legends last March, teaming up with ex-Reds star Fernando Torres to the fans' delight at Anfield.
The game allowed Sven-Goran Eriksson to fulfil his dream of managing Liverpool before the former England manager succumbed to cancer in August.
