As the Reds chase down the Premier League title, Slot looked back on the season and picked his favourite moment so far.

Liverpool had just conceded a goal, and the game was on the edge.

But what happened next gave Slot goosebumps.

“Hopefully that’s a moment still to come in the upcoming five games – hopefully the first one, of course,” Slot said (via Liverpoolfc.com, keeping one eye on the title race.

“But there were special moments.”

He continued, “Special when Virgil, just before the end, headed the goal in against West Ham.

The captain’s powerful goal followed a storming two-minute spell by both players and fans.

Slot explained, “After conceding the 1-1 against West Ham, everybody probably felt, ‘Ooh, this is going to be difficult.’ Then the team stepped up, the fans stepped up, and they were just flying.

As a result of that, we got a corner kick when Virgil scored the goal.”

He added, “The emotions that ran through him, through the stadium, through the staff, through everyone, that was a beautiful moment.
