Liverpool's confidence over reaching an agreement with Mohamed Salah on a new contract looks likely to be tested in the coming weeks following claims from the Saudi Pro League that the Egyptian winger IS still considering a shock move to the Middle East.

A source accepts that Salah has prioritised negotiations with Liverpool as he weighs up his future and it's understood that remaining at Anfield would be the player's preference.
However, that same source still believes Salah 'will be signed up' when his deal expires.

If Salah does give a lucrative switch to Al-Hilal the green light, such a move is highly unlikely to happen before the start of the Club World Cup in June.
The Saudi champions are set to compete in the tournament, arranged by FIFA.
When he was asked again if this season would be his last at Liverpool - after previously stressing there was "no update" on progress over a new deal - Salah told Sky Sports: "So far, yes.
