Liverpool are set to win the Premier League, with many fans and experts already casting their eyes ahead to the summer.

The transfer window is expected to be a massive one for the Reds, with Jamie Carragher urging Liverpool to make six new signings as Arne Slot looks ready to oversee one of the biggest squad overhauls in recent years at Anfield.

One player who is expected to leave is Darwin Nunez, with Liverpool fans angry with the striker after the Uruguayan international posted a now-deleted tweet about his lack of playing time, with a transfer away from Merseyside likely this summer.

Yet Liverpool could have a dream replacement in mind for Nunez after what happened in the Premier League this weekend.

Ipswich Town’s relegation fate was confirmed on Saturday after a 3-0 loss away to Newcastle United, with the result meaning that Liam Delap’s £30m release clause is now activated heading into the summer.

Liverpool have been linked with Delap in recent weeks, with the England youth international one of the breakout players in the Premier League this season, with the former Manchester City wonderkid hitting 12 goals in his first full campaign in the top-flight.

Lauded as a ‘top striker’ by Ange Postecoglou via Football London, Delap is expected to become one of the most-sought-after players amongst Premier League sides this summer, with the attacker now available for just £30m.

And with Nunez expected to leave Liverpool, Delap could be the perfect replacement for the Uruguay international this summer, with Anfield an alluring prospect for the young striker given their pending status as Premier League champions.

Liverpool are clearly in a market for a new striker, with Nunez’s performances this season once again not hitting the levels that most fans expected from the former Benfica man in what is now his third year with the Reds.

And in Delap, Liverpool have a perfect replacement already out there for Nunez, though the Anfield side cannot afford to wait around to trigger the striker’s release clause, with virtually every Premier League club in the top half of the table potentially looking at the youngster.

Indeed, Delap has all the quality to be a good signing for Liverpool and a good replacement for Nunez, with the attacking ticking all the boxes to one day become one of the best in the Premier League.
