Liverpool could be crowned Premier League champions when they host Arsenal on 10 May, which would pile the misery on their title rivals.

But the weekend's results have put Arne Slot's men on the cusp of winning their first title for five years.

Arsenal were beaten by West Ham at home on Saturday afternoon, spurning the chance to temporarily close in on Liverpool.



Liverpool have 11 matches left to play, while Arsenal do have a game in hand over the runaway leaders.

If they beat the Gunners that day, then Liverpool will have confirmed their title win.

The title could well be confirmed before that point though, which means that Arsenal will have to give Liverpool a guard of honour ahead of the clash at Anfield.

For me, I’m really, really annoyed with the things that were in our hands that we didn’t do as well as we possibly could and that’s the performance," he said after the defeat to West Ham.

"The team that we played today, me included 100%, were nowhere near the levels that we have to hit to have the opportunity to win a Premier League game today.
