Not content with just that, Richard Hughes could now be sent to raid his old club in the upcoming transfer window, and he may have an ace up his sleeve.
In particular, Milos Kerkez and Dean Huijsen are believed to be of interest at Anfield.
The former was signed by Hughes at Bournemouth, and it's a safe bet that he also did plenty of groundwork for the latter signing, although he had left for Liverpool by the time the deal was completed.
The sporting director is now armed with bigger budgets and greater pulling power, but he is also facing more fierce competition.
No doubt Hughes himself is something of a secret weapon, with his extensive contacts at Bournemouth and his direct experience with the players in question.
The Cherries are hoping to pick as many as three Liverpool players in the summer.
According to the Mail, Bournemouth is keeping close tabs on Caoimhin Kelleher, Harvey Elliott and Ben Doak.
But if Slot has determined that Elliott does not fit the profile he wants, then there's no point having him and not playing him, so maybe a fistful of cash to sign a player the manager actually intends to play would be preferable.
And Elliott would be hugely tempting bait in any deals for Huijsen or Kerkez
Unlike some of the wholly PSR-motivated "swap" deals of last summer (Omari Kellyman hasn't exactly shone for Chelsea), this has the potential to be a genuinely mutually beneficial move.
Ultimately, a lot of it will come down to player preference, and Bournemouth will not block Kerkez and Hujsen from going elsewhere purely to try and do business with Liverpool
