Liverpool could have a new pathway to completing the signing of Newcastle United striker Alexander Isak.
The Reds continue to be credited an interest in the Sweden international with the summer transfer window fast approaching.
Isak has scored two goals against Liverpool this season in a Newcastle shirt, most recently the winning goal in the Carabao Cup final at Wembley Stadium earlier this month.
If a move for Isak was to happen, it would likely affect the future of at least one member of Arne Slot's squad.

Darwin Nunez and Diogo Jota are the current striker options at Liverpool.
In the case of Nunez, a fresh update has emerged about the Uruguay international's future.
TEAMtalk have reported that Newcastle are showing an interest in signing Nunez in the summer transfer window.
Nottingham Forest and Atletico Madrid are also reported in the market to sign the Liverpool star when the transfer window opens.

Nunez's future has also been the subject of speculation over the last few months.
If Newcastle do turn out to have an interest in the Liverpool striker, it could help the Reds in a potential deal to sign Isak, if their interest turns out to be genuine, too.
Newcastle are reported to be insistent that Isak is not available for transfer this summer, despite the intense speculation.
