That hasn’t stopped Liverpool from being linked with a whole host of names, however, with Newcastle’s Alexander Isak attracting interest from the Reds.
Any move for the Swedish forward would be pricey though, with Newcastle wanting £150m for Isak – a fee Liverpool are unlikely to offer.
With that being said, Arne Slot’s side may be better off turning their attention to another attacking target – namely Hugo Ekitike.

With the Isak move likely to be too expensive for FSG, there wouldn’t be much better alternatives for Liverpool this summer than to sign Ekitike.
Strong, quick and clever on the ball – the Eintracht Frankfurt star profiles very similar to Isak and could potentially be a much cheaper option for the Reds.

German outlet BILD recently claimed that Frankfurt are looking to make the Frenchman their next big sale, with the Europa League side looking for a fee in the region of €80 million (£66.2m).
That fee will be a much more attractive sum to the Liverpool hierarchy compared to the hefty £150m quoted for Isak – the Reds however will have competition with the Gunners also looking to revamp their forward line.
