Liverpool defender James Norris has joined League of Ireland Premier Division side Shelbourne on loan until the end of the season.
Norris will spend the next four months at the current Irish champions, whose domestic season began last weekend with a 3-1 win at home to Derry City.
With the season in Ireland running through the summer, their transfer window doesn't close until Saturday meaning Norris has been able to depart Anfield on a temporary basis.
The 21-year-old left-back has been on the bench four times for the Liverpool first team this season, most recently for the FA Cup fourth round defeat at Championship strugglers Plymouth Argyle earlier this month when Reds boss Arne Slot selected a squad missing a host of senior players.

Norris was also an unused substitute for the League Cup quarter-final win at Southampton, along with the Champions League clashes at Girona and PSV Eindhoven.
The defender, who has been at the Academy since under-9 level, made his senior debut in December 2019 when coming off the bench for the last eight minutes of the 5-0 League Cup quarter-final loss at Aston Villa.

Norris then made his second first-team outing in January 2022 when introduced during injury time of the 4-1 FA Cup third round win over Shrewsbury Town at Anfield.
He spent the 2023/24 campaign on loan at League Two side Tranmere Rovers, for whom he made 20 appearances.
