For Arne Slot and his staff, there has thankfully not been too many injuries to his first team players this campaign.
The likes of Diogo Jota and Curtis Jones were fit enough to make the bench in the 2-0 win over Bournemouth, while Joe Gomez was left out but is in full team training.
The Dutch manager has showed that he is not scared to rotate players to show adequate rest – as shown by the second string he took to PSV last week.
Jones actually revealed that it was a knee issue that kept him out for around 10 days, with the midfielder saying he had a “small injury” on his MCL.
But one man who is not currently with Arne Slot’s squad has suffered an injury riddled season has now taken to social media to relay his feelings.
Liverpool defender posts injury update
Liverpool defender Calum Scanlon’s loan spell at Millwall has come to a premature end following a grade three hamstring tear that will likely rule him out for the remainder of the 2024/25 season.
The 19-year-old left-back’s time at The Den has been plagued by injuries, managing just four appearances since joining on loan in August 2024.
His initial setback came in September when he suffered a stress fracture in his back that forced him to return to Liverpool for a four-month rehabilitation period.
After making an encouraging return to action in mid-January, which included scoring his first professional goal in a 2-2 draw against Cardiff City, Scanlon’s progress was halted just 17 minutes into Millwall’s 1-0 victory at Luton when he sustained the hamstring injury.
It was a hammer blow for the 19-year-old who was just getting back to full fitness
Taking to Instagram, Scanlon shared a message after the injury:
“Picking up another injury is difficult,” he began.
“But every time I have come back stronger and hungrier.
This will only make me better.”
“My time at Millwall has been cut short, but I have made amazing memories and met great people?
Thanks to the fans who supported me from the start, wishing you all the best for the rest of the season.”

The teenager, who made his Liverpool debut in a 5-1 UEFA Europa League victory over Toulouse last October3, has now returned to Merseyside for treatment.
The expected 12-week recovery timeline would take Scanlon to late April, effectively ending his season with Millwall’s final game scheduled for May 3 against Burnley.
