Only Jose Mourinho collected more points after 25 matches in his debut season in the Premier League than Arne Slot.

Liverpool moved onto 60 points courtesy of the 2-1 victory over Wolverhampton Wanderers on Sunday, with the Reds having dropped just 15 points all campaign.

The win over Wolves restored Liverpool's seven-point lead over Arsenal at the top of the league standings after the Gunners had narrowed the gap to four points with a 2-0 victory over Leicester 24 hours earlier.

Liverpool remains the strong favorite to win the title, and history bodes well for the Reds considering the only two managers who picked up as many points as Slot after 25 games in their debut seasons both went on to lift the title.

Mourinho's Chelsea side collected 64 points from the first 25 games of the 2004-05 season and went on to end the season on top of the pile with 95 points, 12 points clear of Arsene Wenger's Arsenal.

Antonio Conte also won the Premier League during his first campaign as Chelsea manager, collecting 60 points from the first 25 games of the 2016-17 season and ending on 93 points, seven points ahead of second-placed Tottenham.

The latest supercomputer predictor gives Liverpool an 88.9 per cent chance of winning the league from this position, with Arsenal given an 11 per cent chance and Manchester City given a generous 0.1 per cent chance.

One unexpected statistic to come out of the game against Wolves, though, was that the Reds failed to attempt a single shot on goal during a full half of a Premier League match for the first time on record (since 2003-04).

After taking a two-goal lead during the first half through goals from Luis Diaz and Mohamed Salah, it looked likely that Liverpool would go on and record a comfortable victory, but Wolves improved during the second half and were perhaps unlucky not to emerge with a point.

Matheus Cunha scored a brilliant goal from distance to halve Liverpool's lead and the Reds required a last-gasp challenge in injury time from Jarell Quansah to prevent Marshall Munetsi from scoring an equalizer.

Wolves were by far the better team in the second half, so much so that Liverpool failed to muster a single shot either on or off target, which is something that may well not happen again for the remainder of Slot's time in charge of the club considering it had been more than 20 years since it previously happened.
