Liverpool’s win over Leicester City was richly celebrated by supporters on Easter Sunday.

The Reds were not especially fluent throughout much of the game, but still got the job done to move another step closer to Premier League glory.

Trent Alexander-Arnold was the hero of the hour, the right-back pouncing on a loose ball to fire home the first left-footed goal of his career.

It was Alexander-Arnold’s fourth strike of the season, equalling his best ever return in a Liverpool shirt.

And after moving to within one win of the Premier League title, Reds fans lapped up the celebrations at full-time, with the whole Liverpool squad revelling in the moment.

After such wins this season, it has been customary to see Mohamed Salah post his signature selfie with the day’s goalscorers.

Every post from the Egyptian has been a big hit.

But as fans on X noted with interest on Sunday, Salah did not share a photo with Alexander-Arnold.

“No post match selfie today?” questioned one supporter.

“Maybe the beef between him and Trent is actually real.” “Wow, Salah didn’t take a selfie with him.

It’s actually over,” said another.

“Before today, when was the last time that Mo Salah didn’t post a post match selfie with the goalscorers?” questioned one supporter, with another adding “It’s actually so crazy Salah not posting that selfie with Trent.”

Meanwhile, other supporters were quick to add their own theories as to why Salah did not take his usual snap with Alexander-Arnold.

“Salah knows EXACTLY what he’s doing by not posting the goal scorer selfie,” said one.

“I actually love how Salah didn’t post his usual goalscorer selfie with Trent.

He is clearly as disappointed with Trent’s decision to leave as we are,” opined another.

“Salah being petty and not posting the Trent selfie,” someone else commented, with others finding it difficult not to read into the situation.

“Reading too much into it or is it a little weird that Salah hasn’t posted his match winning selfie with the goal scorer?

And given this was a really big victory in the context of the season, fans clearly expected to see another one on Sunday.

Salah did post on Instagram after the game, but chose a photo of himself holding one finger up to supporters at the full-time whistle.

The No.11 also shared one relating to Alexander-Arnold on his Instagram stories, posting two heart emojis over a photo of he, Trent, Virgil van Dijk, Harvey Elliott and Kostas Tsimikas celebrating the winning goal.
