The Gunners took on Real Madrid in the first leg of their Champions League quarter-final tie and the North London club put the defending champions to the sword with an impressive 3-0 win thanks to goals from Declan Rice and Mikel Merino.
This came as a major shock to the football world given the team the Spanish giants currently possess and with Real Madrid set to add Liverpool’s Trent Alexander-Arnold this summer, many will expect the La Liga champions to wipe the floor with the competition throughout the 2025/26 campaign.
Having watched Real Madrid get hammered on Tuesday night, Liverpool fans all had the same message for Alexander-Arnold.

Alexander-Arnold is out of contract with Liverpool at the end of the season and he is not expected to pen a new deal with the Premier League leaders, hence the links to Real Madrid.
It is being said that Trent Alexander-Arnold wants to move to Real Madrid as he believes the La Liga giants can help him become the first full-back to ever win a Ballon d’Or, however, Liverpool fans made an attempt to change the 26-year-old’s mind on Tuesday night.
One Liverpool fan wrote on X (formerly known as Twitter): “Trent bro if you were playing at Madrid today the fans and the media would have marinated and cooked you crispy by now”.

Another Reds supporter said: “If I am Trent, I am getting the ick.”
A third supporter wrote: “I wonder if Trent is seated and watching Madrid get humiliated by a team who’s 11 points behind us in the PL?”
Sky Sports’ Melissa Reddy reported that Real Madrid and Alexander-Arnold were left surprised by the news that broke during the international break of the Liverpool star agreeing to move to Spain as nothing has changed in the saga since January.
This leaves the door open for the defender to remain at Anfield and Stephen Warnock believes Alexander-Arnold could stay at Liverpool next season.
Although nothing is done until pen is put to paper, it is hard to see the 26-year-old playing for Liverpool next season, as it has been clear for a while now that the full-back has his heart set on a move to Real Madrid.
It would break the internet if Alexander-Arnold changed his mind and it would be a major boost for Arne Slot to retain one of his most valuable players.
