As reported in the Liverpool ECHO, Nunez allegedly gave his reaction to suggestions that a lack of game time has been down to the Reds trying to save money.
“No wonder I didn’t play more, because the last game I started in the Premier League went well and suddenly…” Nunez is said to have written.
Understandably, the reaction from Liverpool fans has been ferocious.

“I usually don’t have any ill-feeling towards a Liverpool player but I can’t wait until he’s gone and we can pretend he never existed.”
“Darwin Nunez has more deleted tweets than goals for Liverpool,” said someone else.
Can’t wait to see the back of him to be honest,” another fan admitted, while others compared the Uruguayan to some of Liverpool’s poorer signings of the past.

To question that in a public way is clearly an attempt to undermine the Liverpool head coach.
As a result, it would not be a surprise if Nunez was omitted from the Liverpool squad for the rest of the season.
