Liverpool have already started planning for next season amid imminent title glory and their targeted young defender is prioritising them over Chelsea.

The Merseysiders have been exceptional with their performances so far, despite unfortunately exiting the UEFA Champions League, and FA Cup and losing the Carabao Cup final.

However, amid the extreme possibility of winning the Premier League title for the 2024-25 season, the Reds have started working towards securing the team for the next season.

The successful behind-the-curtain actions of the LFC officials have already led to the contract renewals of Mohamed Salah and Virgil van Dijk.

Now, they are also trying to increase the squad depth by signing some new talents so that they can challenge for next season’s titles as well.

The rumours of Liverpool eyeing a move for Bournemouth centre-back Dean Huijsen have been doing the rounds for quite some time now.

Chelsea, Arsenal and Newcastle are some of the PL clubs who are currently contesting LFC to sign the 20-year-old.

The Spanish-Dutch defender, valued at €42m by Transfermarkt, has also been linked with Real Madrid.

However, they are still not sure if they want to sign a defender this summer.

But, although a Liverpool Echo report suggested that the Blues have good relationships with the player’s agents, his relatives, which can result in the deal materialising, it can all take a u-turn.

Journalist Alex Crook of talkSPORT confirmed that the young defender is prioritising other clubs over the Stamford Bridge side.

Another update from Graeme Bailey on Friday confirmed that ‘Huijsen is likely to stay in the Premier League this summer, with Liverpool favourites to land his signature’.

If everything goes well, Liverpool will be acquiring a long-term defensive solution in the form of Dean Huijsen, who is regarded highly by experts.
