Ryan Gravenberch and Ibrahima Konate both took part in Liverpool's training session on Monday as Arne Slot put his players through their paces ahead of Wednesday's Merseyside derby with Everton.

There was also a further boost for the Reds with the news that Joe Gomez is back on the grass after missing much of the last three months with a hamstring injury picked up in the first half of the win at West Ham United in late December.

Gravenberch gave the Reds an injury scare at the top of the international break when he was sent home from the Netherlands squad after it was confirmed that a problem had been detected after the Carabao Cup final defeat to Newcastle United on March 16.

The midfielder missed the UEFA Nations League quarter-final tie with Spain as a result but was back involved at the AXA Training Centre on Monday after reporting back for duty over the weekend with his colleagues.

The news will come as a big boost for Slot, who has used the former Bayern Munich midfielder in all 29 Premier League games so far this term, with only Mohamed Salah and Virgil van Dijk featuring more prominently than the 22-year-old's 2471 minutes.

Konate also took part in the session after the conjecture around his first-half removal for France in their game with Croatia in Split.

There was initially some concern that the centre-back had suffered a fitness setback having played less than an hour of the Carabao showpiece loss to Newcastle, but the defender was with his colleagues at the Kirkby base on Monday ahead of Wednesday's visit from David Moyes's Blues.

Gomez was also taking part in a solo session, away from the pack, as he continues to build up his own fitness after breaking down on his comeback against Plymouth Argyle last month.

The versatile defender was making a return to action after that hamstring issue at West Ham but was forced to be withdrawn early on at Home Park as the Reds were beaten 1-0 in the FA Cup.

It's unclear when Gomez will be permitted for a full comeback but Slot will speak to the media on Tuesday morning to provide further clarity on the condition of the centre-half.

Conor Bradley also took part in a gym session as he bids to make a return from a hamstring problem of his own, suffered at Aston Villa in February.
