Liverpool Echo readers have been deep in discussion over the Reds' summer transfer window and potential squad changes. The buzz is already building with the confirmation that Giorgi Mamardashvili from Valencia will be joining Liverpool, sparking debates about the team's goalkeeping options.

Even though the current season is still in play and the Premier League title chase is on, fans are turning their attention to the summer transfer window and the possibility of a Liverpool squad revamp.

The Anfield faithful are set for at least one new face in the coming months, with Giorgi Mamardashvili to arrive after last summer's £30 million agreement with Valencia for the Georgian international's services. But what does it mean for Liverpool's goalkeeper situation as a whole?

Reds supporters have been sharing their thoughts and concerns. Jurgenslot believes: "Kelleher is better with his feet and at saving pens than Ali [Alisson], so they insult him by buying this Marma guy who is a pricey disaster in a weaker league. Just sell Marma on, keep Kel and give him more starts as Ali ages out, it's not rocket science. Keepers are not an issue at LFC, even Saros looks good as 3rd choice."

Tiffany78 thinks: "LFC should offer a new contract to Kelleher with £50 million release clause, and times his wages by 10. Alisson could hand in transfer request at end of season-then we are left with what? Chelsea will take him and we get a 2nd choice keeper who would not get in Birmingham city's TEAM. If Alisson hands in transfer request - we are exposed massively. LFC should be offering Kelleher a £100K week contract with a £50 million release clause."

Scouseparty agrees: "I agree with everyone else. We should NOT be selling Kelleher and replacing him with an inferior keeper. What’s going on?"

Kevlasvegas thinks: "Laughable, we went and splashed out £30m on Mamardashvili from Valencia last summer who's form this season has been dismal with him recording a save percentage of just 61, the second lowest in a far weaker La Liga Spanish league. With that record, surely he will be coming in as a number 3 goalkeeper, not a number 2 or 1. There is no way we should be contemplating selling Kelleher (estimated £55m value), offer him a new contract and deal. There is a possibility he can play his way into the number one spot in the not too distant future with Alisson Becker likely moving back to Brazil to see out his final playing days. Mamardashvili will need to show exactly how good he is before moving up the goalkeeper pecking order."

TheBman replies: "Exactly, but it's typical of this club. And though a great deal for Chiesa, Slot will not play him, it's becoming a joke. Talking of spending money they haven't renewed contracts, (top secret) on that. We lose more money from walkways than any other team. Spending very little, I wonder why. Scouts (so called) are out looking for any more on the cheap than top class. Can't wait for the summer window."

BreadPitt adds: "Big BIG mistake. For me he should already be our number 1. But you know what a new manager is all about when he comes in, neglects the clubs own talent and splashes out 30M on a foreign player after he had a good summer tournament. That money should have been used to strengthen the other 10 positions. But in goal we have the two best goalies of the Prem."

Doyoun says: "It's hard for him to be our number 1 when we already have the world's best keeper."

Pangpang123 disagrees: "No, he is not that level yet. Ali still way ahead. Liverpool will not have sign anyone if he is willing to stay and be Ali backup."

Liffan thinks: "I think the new mentality is going to drive LFC in the wall. Besides, that we have practically seen nothing this season from the academy boys and most of them are shifted away or sitting on the bench like statues, we are going to sell players like Kelleher that he is proven and tested and bring someone that only god knows if he can fit or not in the team. I hope that LFC are not going to copy other clubs in the Premier League and splash millions on special players and shift away their own tested players that are doing so well with other clubs, while the big names bought, all of them can be counted as flops now."
