Steven Gerrard could be in line for a swift return to management as he is currently the bookies' favourite to be named as the new manager of Blackburn Rovers.
Gerrard joined Al Ettifaq in June 2023 after stints at Aston Villa and Rangers.
Now, though, the 44-year-old could be set for his fourth role in management since hanging up his boots in 2016, with Sky Bet pricing him at 15/8 to become the new manager of Blackburn Rovers.
The Ewood Park club are on the search for a new manager after John Eustace left the club earlier this week to join Championship strugglers Derby County.
Despite leading Rovers to the Championship Play-Off places, it is reported that Eustace opted to join the East Midlands outfit to be closer to his family, who live in the region.
However, with just 14 games of the season remaining, the one-time Premier League winners said they are determined to finish the season as strongly as possible, as they eye a return to the top flight for the first time since 2012.

Gerrard's former Liverpool and England team-mate Danny Murphy believes he would "jump" at the opportunity to join Blackburn after a turbulent few years since leaving Rangers in 2021.
I'm of the mindset that all managers are improving when they are in roles and he would've definitely improved at both Aston Villa and in Saudi.

"I think being in Saudi was just to keep him ticking over after Aston Villa and you could argue that was the role that came too early in his managerial career, even though he started well there.
He would have learned a lot of lessons from that and with the Blackburn job, I think he'd jump for the opportunity."
