Liverpool are reportedly one of several clubs keeping tabs on Milos Kerkez as he prepares to leave Bournemouth at the end of the season.

The left-back has been one of the standout performers for the Cherries since moving to the South Coast from AZ Alkmaar in 2023.

In his debut season in the Premier League, Kerkez featured in 28 out of a possible 38 games as Andoni Iraola's side finished 12th in the Premier League.

This season, however, the Hungary international has featured in every minute of Bournemouth's Premier League campaign, with the Cherries currently in seventh place and chasing European qualification for the first time in the club's history.

But according to Fabrizio Romano, this season will be Kerkez's last at the Vitality Stadium as the player is "expected" to move away from the South Coast to "try a new chapter".

Liverpool's sporting director, Richard Hughes, was key to Bournemouth signing the defender nearly two years ago when he held a similar role at the South Coast club.

And after the Reds' 2-0 win at the Vitality in February, Arne Slot revealed that he tweaked his side's game plan to thwart the threat of Kerkez, who has recorded four assists in the Premier League this season.

"Not many things we do are by coincidence and I think it is clear that this team (Bournemouth) have many good things but their left full-back is definitely a threat going forward," said the Dutchman.

"And Mo Salah is an incredible player but his main strength is not following the opposite full-back.

But yeah, it's clear if you leave Trent (Alexander-Arnold) with Antoine Semenyo and Kerkez alone in the two-v-one that is not the best idea that I can come up with."

Slot, though, refused to be drawn on Liverpool's reported interest in the left-back.

"I don't think I have to talk about players that we are interested in, let alone a player from Bournemouth.

[Kerkez] is over here, he is having a great season as many, many other players are having here as well," added the Reds head coach.

"And that shows you how good of a manager you have over here and what a great sporting director you had (Richard Hughes) over here and maybe still have now, I don't know who it is.

"But he (Hughes) brought in many good players and the manager works with every player to bring them in an incredible way, including the one you just mentioned but I am not talking about an individual, they are all bringing the best out of their game at the moment."
