"Back at home, always proud to wear this shirt!" Mac Allister captioned a short post on Instagram - showing him hard at work with his international teammates, including Chelsea midfielder Enzo Fernandez.

He was kitted out in full training gear.

The reigning World Cup champions' next match is a qualifier against Bolivia in Buenos Aires.

Despite their draw in Venezuela - and a defeat at Colombia last month - Argentina are three points clear at the top of South America's standings midway through qualification.

Scaloni debated using the Liverpool man before their first match of this international break, and his involvement could once again come under more significant consideration for their following fixture.
