Cody Gakpo has handed Liverpool an injury boost after returning to training ahead of their Champions League round-of-16 second-leg clash with Paris Saint-Germain.
The forward suffered a knock in last month’s Merseyside derby at Everton.
While Gakpo returned as a substitute in victories over Manchester City and Newcastle United, he has since missed Liverpool’s wins over both PSG and Southampton.
Ahead of facing the Ligue 1 in the first leg at the Parc des Princes, Arne Slot confirmed the 25-year-old had suffered another knock in training.
Gakpo was included in the travelling squad for the trip to Paris.
However, he did not recover in time to be considered for selection, with the issue also ruling him out of the 3-1 success at home to Southampton on Sunday that stretched the Reds' lead at the top of the Premier League.

But after returning to open training on Monday, it would appear that the Netherlands international is winning his race to return for Tuesday's big match at Anfield against PSG, who trail 1-0 on aggregate.
While Gakpo could be available after returning to training, there were no new absentees in Monday’s session.
The Reds will be without Conor Bradley against PSG as he once again missed training after suffering a hamstring injury last month.
Joe Gomez and Tyler Morton remain long-term absentees after undergoing surgery on hamstring and shoulder injuries respectively.
The 16-year-old Rio Ngumoha was involved in training, however.
