Liverpool have been crowned Premier League champions for 2024/25.
Arne Slot’s first season in charge delivered the Reds’ 20th English league title after a superb campaign.
Having missed out on the top four and, with it, UEFA Champions League qualification for 2023/24, the Reds’ financials for the most recently published accounts showed the impact of a season in the Europa League, with the club posting a £57m loss.
The current financial year for Liverpool runs until the end of May, and given they secured a top-four finish last season and have been participants in the Champions League this season, their 2024/25 accounts will be far rosier.

That figure will be aided by securing top spot in the Premier League this season.
Not only does it guarantee safe passage into next year’s Champions League, it also hands them a boost through the Premier League’s central funding.
The domestic and international broadcast rights for the Premier League, which stand just shy of £12bn for the current cycle, are distributed by the league to its member clubs through a number of channels.
But there are other ways that being Premier League champions can be impactful beyond central payments and European football.
For commercial partners, both existing and future, to be aligned with a Premier League champion is valuable.
Brands want to be associated with success and winners, and whether it is allowing existing brands to tap into that success to activate on their partnerships and heighten the chance of increased sums when it comes to renewals, or whether it is potential new partners who are lured by the possibility of being part of the portfolio of partners of a Premier League winner, it can open doors to new conversations.
Likewise, merchandise for the club, heading into a new season with Adidas as the kit supplier, as well as the club’s own monobranded merchandise, will likely see a spike post Premier League win, with the ability of the club to be able to leverage that success with new lines.
Also, almost a year out from the World Cup in North America, and with interest in the Premier League booming in the US market, to be champions of England at such a time offers the club the chance to put a flag in the ground in some markets and entice new fans to come on board for the journey, something that aids merchandising revenue potential.
Likewise, heading to Hong Kong and Japan this summer as champions is great for the club when it comes to promoting the brand in Asia, and keeping commercial partners satisfied with the visibility of such a successful club at a key time.
