Trent Alexander-Arnold looking on during a Liverpool match at night(Image: PA)
Trent Alexander-Arnold continues to dominate the headlines as Real Madrid are working on finalising a deal to sign the Liverpool star on a free transfer.
It emerged on Tuesday that Real remain confident of landing the England international this summer.
The full-back is in the final year of his contract at Anfield, and the Reds have also been in talks with the 26-year-old over a new deal.
The situation, though, has been hanging overhead all season long - or even before that, when Jurgen Klopp first announced he was leaving last year.
Liverpool have contracts that need resolving for Mohamed Salah, Virgil van Dijk and Alexander-Arnold, yet their say over the latter may soon vanish if he instead opts for a change of scenery by moving to the Spanish capital.

Such uncertainty so late in the season puts a cloud over hopeful Premier League title celebrations and also any plans Anfield chiefs have in the pipeline for the transfer market, as they could only add to the extensive work already on the cards.
Before the fate of the club's vice-captain is decided, the full-back department is already one of Liverpool's areas heavily spoken about where change is required.
On the opposite flank, Andy Robertson is 31 and approaching the final year of his own contract, while Kostas Tsimikas is 28 years old with two years remaining at the club.
However, Bournemouth left-back Milos Kerkez has been continually linked with a move to Merseyside.
As previously reported by the ECHO, Liverpool are interested in the 21-year-old while keeping tabs on a number of other potential options ahead of the forthcoming transfer window.
A Hungarian national teammate of Dominik Szoboszlai, he was discovered by now-Anfield sporting director Richard Hughes when still with the Cherries.
What's more, his chairman, Bill Foley, has already told talkSPORT: "We have a lot of our players under long-term contracts and most do not have a release clause.
"We never stand in the way of a player in the event they have an opportunity they feel is a better opportunity, but we're trying to make sure we have a team and an environment that attracts good young players."

According to a recent report in the i, Bournemouth will not sell for less than £40m, but that same report also claimed that Kerkez has long been identified as Robertson’s long-term replacement at left-back.
Real Madrid, Manchester United, Manchester City and Arsenal have all, according to the report, expressed an interest in signing the defender, but Liverpool are trying to get on the front foot and are making moves now.
