Trent Alexander-Arnold was the obvious one, the right-back was the match-winner and certainly revelled in that role.
However, having only played 20 minutes at the King Power Stadium, Alexander-Arnold was not considered for the game’s man of the match award, decided by Sky Sports commentator Gary Neville.
Instead, Alexis Mac Allister was the player chosen after another battling display in the Liverpool midfield.
And having been handed his award by Alexander-Arnold, Mac Allister uttered some rather heart-breaking words to sum up just how underrated he has become, even by himself.

Mac Allister has been an absolutely crucial part of the Liverpool squad which will go on to win the Premier League in the next few weeks.
Starting 29 of their 33 matches, the Argentine has made a further three substitute appearances, meaning Mac Allister has missed just one game all season.

Despite being such a mainstay in the team, though, Ryan Gravenberch has often received more praise than Mac Allister, while others such as Mohamed Salah and Virgil van Dijk have taken further plaudits.
But underneath it all, Mac Allister has kept things ticking.
And judging by his reaction to being named man of the match on Sunday, he should realise that a little more himself.

“I don’t know if I deserve it but the most important thing is the win and that this guy scored,” said Mac Allister, with a thump on the back for Trent.
After putting in such a shift for 90 minutes, it was a little sad to hear Alexis play himself down.
While Alexander-Arnold may have deserved it for his winning goal, Mac Allister was a worthy man of the match on Sunday.
The 26-year-old completed 40 out of 46 passes, won all three tackles he contested and even found time to create three chances for Liverpool.
All in all it was another strong display from Mac Allister, who has become Mr Consistency for the Reds since arriving in 2023.
He may not always catch the eye – although he is capable of stunning moments as shown two weeks back at Fulham – but Mac Allister is the heartbeat of this team.
Others will sweep the awards when they’re handed out at the end of the campaign, but Mac Allister has proven himself to be one of the most underrated players in world football.
He deserves all the praise he gets, and he should learn to expect it too!
