Liverpool have a secret weapon over Manchester United in their pursuit for Antoine Semenyo this summer.
The Bournemouth star is attracting interest from a host of Premier League clubs, having enjoyed a second season on the south coast.
The Independent has reported that Semenyo is expected to be among the group that could depart Bournemouth this summer, alongside Dean Huijsen and Milos Kerkez.
Liverpool, however, have been monitoring Semenyo since last November, with Sky Sports also reporting at the time that he was among the players the club had scouted
He was responsible for signing him from Bristol City in 2023 and Hughes could now prove to be Liverpool's secret weapon in their hopes of getting a deal over the line.
Cherries manager Andoni Iraola has been impressed with the forward's impact and has praised the influence he’s had on the team.
"Antoine [Semenyo] is in a lovely moment; he is full of confidence, his finishing, with both legs over the line defensively," Iraola said
I know we will try to keep him there, and as long as he can continue to do the things that he is doing, he is going to be very valuable for us."
It has been reported that Bournemouth would likely demand a fee in excess of £50million for Semenyo in the summer.
