Former Liverpool defender Jamie Carragher has issued a response after Manchester City manager, Pep Guardiola, hit back over his Erling Haaland comments.
Haaland now remains a doubt for Sunday afternoon's Premier League match vs Liverpool (4.30pm) - but that reaction from the Catalan has sparked headlines and an explanation from the now-Sky Sports and CBS Sports pundit.
"It was a joke to wind up [ex-City defender] Micah Richards, as that's the nature of our show on CBS," Carragher posted on X (was Twitter) before highlighting the reporter's question.
It followed on from the embargoed section of Guardiola's pre-Liverpool press conference, where he was asked for his reaction to the claims over Haaland's lack of involvement in Wednesday night's defeat being due to the prospect of facing Antonio Rudiger.
